Command-line reference#

Installing the Python source package provides the lunartrace console command. python -m lunartrace exposes the same command plane. From the repository environment, prefix commands with uv run.

Inspect an artifact#

lunartrace inspect ARTIFACT

For a Study directory, inspect reports identity, manifest/version information, content-addressed identity, artifact count, row availability, currentness, and limitations. For a JSON file, it reports byte hash, size, top-level kind, and keys.

Inspection is not full scientific verification. It should not be described as validating scientific truth beyond the supported parsing/inspection scope.

Verify a Study bundle#

lunartrace verify STUDY_DIR
lunartrace verify STUDY_DIR --no-replay

Verification checks contracts, artifact hashes and lengths, friendly/content-addressed pointer agreement, manifest/Study consistency, dependency coverage, currentness, and normalized-data identity. Supported canonical row-bearing Studies request replay by default.

Exit code 0 means the structured verification report is ok. A verification failure returns 2. Read the report’s dimensions rather than treating exit success as an endorsement of every scientific interpretation.

Request reproduction#

lunartrace reproduce STUDY_DIR

This requests verification with replay. Historical aggregates report UNAVAILABLE_HISTORICAL rather than reconstructing missing rows. A noncanonical external screener cannot silently claim canonical replay.

Recover the historical benchmark#

lunartrace benchmark --repository-root .

The command loads the admitted hash-locked Chang’e 6 basis and emits its historical BenchmarkReport. Reference retention is not labelled accuracy.

R2 repository tool: Lab continuation#

The following is a repository tool, not an additional installed lunartrace subcommand:

Without --acquire, the tool performs no network request. Box intent is not silently promoted into point compilation. See From exploration to reproducible computation for the exact proof ceiling.

Machine-readable operation#

Normal command output is structured JSON. Operational errors are bounded JSON on stderr with a nonzero exit status. Save the exact command, source revision, output, and exit code when a result becomes part of a research or qualification record.
